I recently watched Six triple eight and you guys know what time it is. It is time for movie review. I know I am probably late to the show but I would give the review still. So join me, let’s dive into my view of the movie.

Six triple eight was directed by Tyler Perry and released on the 6th of December 2024. The movie runs for 2hours and 7 minutes. Trust me, it was two hours seven minutes of bliss for me.

I recently found out that I love movies where history is taught and learnt. I never loved or even consider history in school but a movie explaining history does a good job in building my interest. So my gentle reader, I know you can already see that anticipation was built once I had an idea what the movie was about.

Want to know another thing I find fascinating? It is when the history sheds light on the hidden things past makes us ignore. The fact that the main characters of this movie were not duly appreciated speaks volume.

The movie focused on the lives of the only women’s Army Corp unit of colour. A lady Lena and Abram are seen having a booming romantic relationship as Abram prepared to be deployed. Abram leaves with a promise to be back but the promise is cut short by the news of Abram death. Nothing out of the ordinary right.

Lena made a decision to join the army amd that is the introduction viewers get to the Army Coup of colour. Lena meets with other black women and they all become friends. They were all trained under Captain Charity Adams and Lieutenant Noel Campbell.

The segregation is conspicuous as the women try to fight for their place. They were finally given a mission after being overlooked. Trust me, that mission feels like the best definition of mission impossible. They faced challenges and trials, and the question remained, would they overcome? Would they be able to finally gain the respect and honour they deserve?

If you love a good win at the end, check out this movie. I love how the characters were carefully developed. It was beautiful to see how character Lena grew over the months. The cast did a very good job trying to convey the emotions needed in the movie. I could see the pain the women felt. From the lens of the movie, I saw the past. I understood the pain felt, I got a glimpse into what was.

I loved that the movie wasn’t face paced. Honestly, one thing I love when I read books or watch movies is how the story unfolds. The timing means alot, a gradual movement of the storyline makes it a whole masterpiece.

Should I deep dive and speak on intense topic? I had a question at some point of the movie. When and How did a certain race and gender get the idea of superiority? Don’t get me wrong I know about the whole slavery story. I just think the deepest manipulation must have taken place for a whole race to feel so below.

Unity always wins. I loved how the united work of these wonderful women yielded positive results. They were there for different reasons but had a major goal in mind which they accomplish. To me, this women are bonded over shared experiences and learnt to stick together to achieve great things.

At this point, it seem like the movies I review do not have potholes. I am sure they do, I mean there is always room for improvement like my primary school teacher always made sure to write on my report card. I just think sometimes I become either carried away by the storyline that I forget I am supposed to watch out for the improvement needed to be made. Other times, i am utterly repulsed by the improvement I see that I stop watching the movie altogether.

If you have checked out the movie, share the aspects you think needs improvement. I need to see things from a different light. I would seriously appreciate your opinions.

Oh yes, I almost forgot I also noted from the movie that at times in life the little things count. I got to see how much something some would call little like a letter literally lighten up the travails of a warrior.

That is to say the six triple night’s mission was to deliver over 17 million pieces of mail in 6 months. Yeah, within that 6 month they had to clear the boarding school that was going to be their base. Trust me that was alot of work and took alot of effort.

I would highly recommend this movie to anyone depending on what the person is looking for. So incase you are in the mood for some war drama or you love to watch history like I do. Maybe you just want to catch a glimpse of women supporting women. If you are just looking for an amazing movie generally check this one out. It is gold for real.

I would rate this movie an 8 out of ten. So tell me, what do you think. Have I managed to convince you to check it out.
