Prominent Islamic scholar Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello has passed away at the age of 84, as confirmed on December 6, 2024. Born in Ibadan, Oyo State, in 1940, Sheikh Bello was renowned for his fearless sermons and unwavering commitment to Islamic education and teachings.
He was a former Missioner of the Ansar-u-Deen Islamic Society in Kano State and was widely respected for his contributions to the faith. He is set to be buried in Ibadan later today.
The news of his death was shared by fellow clerics, including Alfa Aribidesi of At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’wah, and tributes poured in from admirers such as Alhaji Basit Olarenwaju (Aponle Anobi). Affectionately titled the “Sultonul Wahizeen of Yorubaland,” Sheikh Bello played a pivotal role in promoting Islamic scholarship and inspiring many in Nigeria.
