“Security Operatives Apprehended A Former Convict Three Days After His Release From Jigawa Prison.”

Jigawa State Police Command has rounded up an ex-convict, Mohd Ibrahim for criminal conspiracy, house trespass and theft three days after he was released from prison for the same crime.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who made this known in a statement on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, said the suspect was arrested alongside two accomplices, Hassan Shehu and Salman Ibrahim.

According to the PPRO, Mohd Ibrahim, who was released from correctional custody of Kazaure on June 22, stormed the residence of one Shehu Umar on June 25, with one of the suspects and made away with a laptop and a phone valued at N750,000 and N130,000.00, respectively.

“On 25/06/2024 at about 2030hrs, credible and actionable intelligence led detectives from Kazaure Division to Katoge quarters, Kazaure LGA, and re-arrested one Mohd Ibrahim ‘m’ age 22yrs of Yammakada quarters Kazaure LGA, and Hassan Shehu ‘m’ age 25yrs same address and also Salman Ibrahim ‘m’ 28yrs of Kanti quarters Kazaure LGA (receiver),” the statement read. 

“The said Mohd Ibrahim was released from correctional custody of Kazaure, on 22/06/2024 on the alleged case of house trespass and theft, but unfortunately, he with one another on 24/06/2024 at about 2330hrs, stormed the resident of one Shehu Umar ‘m’ age 27yrs of Katoge quarters and made away with, one laptop Lenovo valued at seven hundred and fifty thousand naira (₦750,000), one techno spark 10 valued at one hundred and thirty thousand naira (₦130,000.00) and one Itel Keypad valued not ascertained.

“On interrogation, suspects confessed to the commission of the offense

“Similarly, all the exhibits were recovered at the recipient’s home.”
