The Federal Government has finally reached an agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to allow Nigerian passport holders to obtain visas for travel to the Arab nation starting today, July 15, 2024.
The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, divulged this in a statement released on his X handle. It reads

‘’FG, UAE Reach Agreement on Resumption of Travels for Nigerian Passport Holders
Following successful talks and extensive, mutually beneficial negotiations between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria @NigeriaGov, an agreement was reached allowing for the resumption of travel to the UAE for Nigerian passport holders.
This agreement includes updated controls and conditions to facilitate obtaining a UAE visa.
The resumption of visas will be effective from July 15, 2024.

Recall that the Arab country in 2022, imposed visa restrictions on Nigerians and nationalities of about 20 other African countries.
The affected countries are Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Comoros, and the Dominican Republic.
