Nigeria’s former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, criticized President Bola Tinubu and his “locust cabal” for being interested only in Nigeria’s wealth.

Dalung also rebuked presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga for claiming that the proposed nationwide protest against bad governance is aimed at destabilizing the country.

In a post on his X handle on Saturday, Dalung called Onanuga’s statement not only uncharitable but wicked.

He stated, “The generation of Nigerians demanding good governance, accountability, and justice are more entitled to Nigeria than the group of scavengers in power.”

Dalung emphasized that the proposed protest is essential, as it seeks accountability from those ruining Nigeria’s common heritage.

He asserted, “Make no mistake, we love our country, but @officialABAT and his locust cabal love only Nigeria’s wealth.

“The protests demand accountability from those destroying our common heritage. Nigerians have nowhere else to go, but @officialABAT has France, while others have Europe, Canada, and the USA.

“Therefore, @aonanuga1956 calling Nigerians destabilizers is not only uncharitable but wicked.

“The generation demanding good governance, accountability, and justice are more entitled to Nigeria than the scavengers in power. The protests are sacrosanct.

“Deploying divide-and-rule tactics will not only fail but is antiquated. The only way to address the protests is for @officialABAT and his cult of plunderers to meet the people’s demands.

“The fear of the protests degenerating into anarchy is a product of your evil imagination, calculated to avoid holding the government accountable. All we are demanding is good governance, which is not too much.”
