The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) emphasized on Wednesday that it is not currently recruiting for the service.
This was stated by the service in a brief post on its official X handle, written in a mix of correct English and pidgin.
It warned the public not to fall victim to scammers attempting to defraud them.
It advised everyone to remain wise and not fall victim.
The post also stated that if the notice of recruitment is not from the service, it should be considered fake news.
The post reads, “For sake of emphasis:
The Service IS NOT CURRENTLY RECRUITING!!!!
“No allow dem make dem gba you thief your hard-earned money. Stay wise. Don’t fall victim.
“Our social media handles across all platforms is @nigimmigration
“If you no see say we tweet am, then na FAKE NEWS.”
