In response to recent payment platform upgrades by Nigerian financial institutions, the Nigeria Immigration Service has addressed concerns regarding visa-on-arrival applications.

In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, service public relations officer Kenneth Udo quoted NIS Comptroller General Kemi Nandap as saying as much.

Mrs. Nandap gave the public reassurance that the NIS platforms were operational and encouraged applicants to use online applications from their homes and use bank cards for easy payment processing.

“The public’s recent challenges as a result of system upgrades on payment platforms by Nigerian financial institutions have brought the attention of the service,” he stated. The general public should be aware that the service’s platforms are all operational. As a result, we suggest that those seeking a visa apply for a Visa-on-Arrival (VOA) from the comfort of their homes and use their bank cards to conveniently make the payment online using the portal’s instructions. All inquiries or requests for information regarding the service should be made through the official channels of the service.
