The principal was given twenty-four hours to justify her behaviour and make the case that she should not face disciplinary action.A teacher has been suspended by the Ogun State Government through the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology for allegedly beating and punishing Master Monday Arijo, an SS2 student at Obada Grammar School in Obada, Idi-Emi, which is said to have resulted in his death.

The teacher was also immediately arrested as a result of the Friday incident, and the school’s principal, Mrs. Tamrat Onaolapo, was immediately questioned for permitting the student to be subjected to corporal punishment in violation of state laws.

The principal was given a full day to defend her actions and explain why she should not face disciplinary action for defying established authority.A letter of condolence was then sent to the family, expressing sympathy for their son’s untimely death and pledging to secure justice for them.

The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary signed the letter, which characterised the late learner as an outstanding student who would be missed by his peers, the school, and the state as a whole.It then prayed for the deceased soul’s rest and the necessary fortitude to help the family deal with the irreplaceable loss.
