Ruud Van Nistelrooy Leaves Manchester United As Amorim Takes Over

A day after the Dutchman guided Manchester United to a 3-0 Premier League victory over Leicester City in his fourth game as interim manager, the team announced that Ruud van Nistelrooy’s tenure has ended.Monday saw the announcement of Van Nistelrooy’s departure as United’s permanent manager, Ruben Amorim, arrived in Manchester.

Since Erik ten Hag was fired, the 48-year-old van Nistelrooy had led United to three victories and a draw across all competitions. The former United striker had repeatedly stated that he hoped to stay with the team following Amorim’s arrival.

Chief Executive Omar Berrada welcomed 39-year-old Amorim with an embrace upon his arrival in Manchester.Until he receives his visa and is able to start coaching, the Portuguese is scheduled to meet with important personnel. According to the club, the visa should arrive soon.Before assuming the role of interim manager, Van Nistelrooy began working for ten Hag as an assistant during the off-season. One player who excelled under van Nistelrooy was captain Bruno Fernandes, who scored four goals in four games after going scoreless in his prior 17 games under ten Hag.Van Nistelrooy claimed to have contributed to the club’s return to stability and confidence. With 15 points from 11 games, the team is currently in 13th place in the standings, just four points behind third.Van Nistelrooy stated on Sunday that the previous four games “had a foundation where there was strong unity, good spirit, and players who were looking for results.” “And we had four [positive] results, which was really significant to me.”
