Leaders from the biggest economies in the world will gather at the summit, which was called by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to talk about important global issues.This was revealed in a statement released on Sunday by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.Global poverty, hunger, the energy transition, and sustainable development will be major topics of discussion at this year’s summit, which he said will have as its theme “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.”

Tinubu is anticipated to advocate for the reform of international governance organisations, a cause that Nigeria has continuously supported.Participants in this year’s meeting, which has as its theme “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,” will talk about combating poverty and hunger, reforming the global governance system, and promoting sustainable development and the energy transition, Onanuga stated.

“Nigeria has consistently pushed for reform of the international governing bodies and frequently showcased its impressive credentials as a formidable candidate for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.”On the sidelines of the event, the president is also anticipated to hold bilateral discussions with other world leaders.

The advancement of Nigeria’s socioeconomic reforms, especially in sectors like infrastructure, energy, and agriculture, will be the main topic of these talks.A high-level delegation will accompany the president, which will include Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Livestock Development Mukhtar Maiha, and Minister of Arts, Tourism, Culture, and Creativity Hannatu Musawa.
