Four Nigerian students in the United Kingdom have been sentenced to prison for their role in a violent knife fight in Leicester.
The incident was reported to have occurred on November 4, 2021, on New Park Street, leaving one victim with multiple stab wounds.
Leicester City Police investigated and identified the culprits using CCTV footage, phone tracking, and public assistance.
The six-week trial ended in October, with the sentences imposed on November 14.

Destiny Ojo, Habib Lawal, Ridwanulahi Raheem, and Joshua Davies-Ero, all in their early twenties, were sentenced to two to seven years.
Destiny Ojo received a seven-year sentence for violent disorder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and GBH with intent.

The students, Destiny Ojo, Habib Lawal, Ridwanulahi Raheem, and Joshua Davies-Ero, all in their early 20s, received sentences ranging from two to seven years.
Destiny Ojo was sentenced to seven years for violent disorder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and GBH with intent.
Lawal received five years for similar charges, while Raheem got three years for violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.
Davies-Ero was sentenced to two years for violent disorder.
A fifth defendant, 22-years-old Justin Asamoah, pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article and will be sentenced on November 22.
A spokesperson for the Leicester Police reportedly commended the public for their assistance during the investigation and stressed the need to tackle violent behaviour to ensure community safety.
Detective Constable Sean Downey, commenting on the case, said, “This incident underscores the grave dangers of violent disorder. It is fortunate that the injuries sustained were not more severe or fatal. This could have been a very different investigation.”
He added, “We thank everyone who supported the investigation. As a force, our priority is public safety. Violent behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities, and we will continue to take decisive action against offenders.”
