Anthony Joshua maintains that his professional career is not yet at its conclusion, despite the substantial setback he experienced in his recent encounter with Daniel Dubois at Wembley, which prompted concerns regarding the viability of his continued participation in the sport of boxing.

Joshua had the aspiration of becoming a three-time world champion by attempting to claim the IBF world heavyweight title on Saturday. However, he unfortunately experienced a setback and was knocked out in the fifth round in front of a record-breaking official attendance of more than 98,000.

Boxing Career ‘Far From Over’ After Dubois Defeat Says Anthony Joshua

The 34-year-old boxer faced significant challenges in the match against Dubois, resulting in multiple knockdowns. Consequently, there were suggestions from various individuals that it may be an appropriate time for Joshua to consider retirement from the sport.

However, the former British Olympic champion courteously released a video on X on Monday, expressing his continued passion for boxing. He mentioned the possibility of a rematch with Dubois and an exciting all-British clash with Tyson Fury as potential future endeavors.

Joshua expressed his determination to focus on the positive aspects of the situation, despite the challenging defeat, which marked the fourth loss in his remarkable 32-fight boxing career.

“What a rollercoaster journey, but do you know what the problem is? It is far from over yet,” he said.

“We’ve done it once, we’ve done it twice, doing it a third time hasn’t been easy but I believe it is something I can achieve. It’s about making the right steps forward, working hard, improving and it has to come from here (heart) more than anything.

It has only been a day, but I am aware that when I reflect on this experience, I will realize how much love and support I have received. Thank you for being with me on this exciting and challenging journey.

“Keep your seatbelts tight because deep down in here I know we have a lot more to bring to this game.”
