The attack, which occurred in Danmusa Local Government Area, caused panic and disrupted prayers at several mosques.

Worshippers in Dan-Ali, a Katsina State community, fled during Friday’s Jummat prayers as terrorists, known locally as bandits, stormed the area armed with deadly weapons.

The attack, which took place in Danmusa Local Government Area, caused panic and disrupted prayers at several mosques.

“We were at the Jummat prayer when we heard the shots, and everyone ran. We could not hold our prayers any longer.

“Thanks to the Security Watch Corps in the area that gave them a hot chase,” a local source who requested anonymity told PUNCH.

The source also requested reinforcement, saying, “We need reinforcement because the bandits are giving us a hard time in our communities as we speak.”

For over a week, bandits have been terrorising farmers, preventing them from entering farmlands in Dan-Ali and surrounding areas such as Gwarjo, Dangane, Tudun, Tasha Kadanya, and Tasha Biri. “Many farmers have been kidnapped, and we are all scared to enter our farms,” the source added.

At the time of filing this report, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the Police Public Relations Officer, could not be reached.
