The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has issued an order restricting vehicular movement in Edo State during the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

The police said they will stop people from moving around on Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm. But people working for the election, the press, and emergency services can still move around.

The IGP also reiterated the ban on security escorts for VIPs at polling units and collation centers, prohibiting unauthorized security personnel and quasi-security outfits from operating during the election.

Adejobi added that the IGP has mandated special attention for individuals with disabilities, pregnant women, nursing mothers, the elderly, and those with mobility challenges, to ensure polling stations are accessible.
