The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has expressed his readiness to mediate in the ongoing Fulani crises in Nigeria, aiming to find a lasting solution. Speaking at his palace on Tuesday while receiving the leadership of Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria, a Fulani organization with members across all 36 states, Sanusi emphasized the need for collaboration with the Federal Government to effectively address the issues.
Sanusi acknowledged the challenges faced by the Fulani community, including isolation and cattle rustling, and recognized that criminal activities by some individuals have negatively impacted the community’s reputation. He proposed a joint intervention with the Federal Government to resolve the conflicts between Fulanis and farmers and to curb further criminal behavior.
The emir offered his personal commitment to working with the government to achieve peace and prosperity for the Fulani people and all Nigerians.
Ibrahim Buba-Jada, the leader of the Fulani group, expressed strong support for Emir Sanusi II’s leadership and efforts, pledging the group’s allegiance and willingness to assist in restoring the Fulani community’s reputation and contributions to Nigeria.
