The Minister of State for Youth Development, Olawande Ayodele, stated that the Federal Government is fully prepared to enhance national solidarity and support the development of the country’s youth.
The minister made this announcement during a visit from a delegation of the Nigeria Youths Union at his Abuja office.
In a statement released on Wednesday and signed by NYU President Chinonso Obasi, the minister revealed this information in response to the requests made by the NYU.
Obasi noted that the youth delegation emphasized the need to reorganize the Nigerian youth structure and to reorient young Nigerians toward fostering national cohesion. “The NYU President strongly reminded the Hon. Minister of the severe impact of the poor economy, insecurity, unemployment, and inadequate infrastructure on Nigerian youths,” the statement said.
In response to the delegation, the minister commended the NYU’s efforts in advocating for improvements in essential areas such as primary healthcare, local government autonomy, youth inclusion in governance, anti-corruption measures, and tackling illegal mining.
He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to collaborating with the group to address these issues. “The Nigerian Youth Union has been at the forefront of advocating for a better Nigeria,” the minister emphasized.
“We are eager to work together on patriotic initiatives aimed at promoting national solidarity and youth development.”
