Gunmen kills man, set sanitation agency vehicle ablaze in Imo

Hours after four police personnel and one other civilian were murdered in irete Owerri, some unidentified gunmen has yet unalived a young man in the same State.

 Factwrita gathered that the gunmen shot without caution into the air as they drove through the Owerri-Enugu Road. They also burnt a Imo State Government Waste Management Agency vehicle at Nkwo Orji Market on Tuesday.

An eyewitness consented to be anonymous because he had no authority to speak. He noted that the gunmen were shouting, “Stay in your homes.” “Don’t come out during the sit-at-home if you love your lives.”

He continued, saying “The traders and buyers scampered for safety as they abandoned their wares, and vehicles and ran for their lives.”

We also gathered that commuters were stranded as transporters were very scared of been shot at by faceless people.

Reacting to the public unrest and killings, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, said, “The police operatives have been massively deployed at Orji. The situation is under control.

“The miscreants responsible for the attacks will certainly be brought to book.” He added
