As a celebration of their 7 years anniversary the Effiong’s made a video asking themselves 21 questions. This was to recreate a moment 7 years ago when they met where they asked themselves 21 questions. This video was meant to self evaluate themselves and have something to work with 7 years moving forward.

A part of the video was shared on YouTube a week ago. A short clip was taken from the video and Toyosi went viral on social media for her questions and response.

It is no wonder that the second part of the video has also received attention. I have checked the video out and I have my opinions about it. However, let’s check out media users opinion.

The part of the second video that caused social media uproar was her husband asked her question. Her husband asked her if she trusts him a 100%. The answer she gave was this

Do I trust you a 100%? No. But i trust that you will always keep me in the loop…. maybe not keep me in the loop. I have spent this years with you and I know you to a large extent, i am getting to know you better. I think that you would do your absolute best to just honour your vows and honour what we have. But I am also aware that i don’t want to say anything can happen but things happen more like and i feel like if anything ever happens. I would know.  I don’t know if that has answered your question”.

Basically, she said that she doesn’t trust her husband although she knows him amd understand that he would do all he can to keep their vows. She reminds herself however that anything could happen.

Unlike the way most people would behave. Mr Etim asked a follow up question, trying to understand his wife’s reasons.

She replied, “ I don’t not trust you. I don’t trust your flesh, this may be too deep now and all of that but we all slip up from time to time . I may say I don’t want to curse anyone out again. I want to just live by the book and be righteous,  and righteous people that curse people out. Then  i am driving on the road someone cuts me on the road and I am like,”Are you….” . We are still work in progress. I am very aware of that, I know hat we are deeper Spiritually and I know we have all this guard riles in place. We have our Spiritual fathers and mothers, family and just mentors surroundings us. I know that but I don’t want to get a point where I am like I trust you a 100%. Yess 100%, nothing can ever happen and then something happen and I am shattered beyond the place where they can gather me back. Do you understand? Maybe if we do this in 14 years. Maybe the answer would change. I trust you but I have left…”

This answer was perhaps a shock to Mr Etim but most likely a shock to the viewers of this video. Comments began to fly in the air as people put their thumb and phone to work giving their review. It has been mixed reactions honestly. Check out this comments from X.

After watching part 2 of the Effiong’s video, I realized that Toyosi is just a very honest person that shows her vulnerability with her husband.I think if people are that honest in relationships, communication will be better” The graced Olabisi commented.

Na she know wetin she use her eyes dey see ‘everything is not insecurity
Where she needs help is the fact that she trust the social media family enough to keep giving drops like this here and there each time wether being insecure or not” @srfavorite commented.

You better trust himThere is no point marrying someone you don’t trust.” By Gabriel Onifade.

“Once wife don dey cheat she no fit trust her husband again” @omaleeprinx

Indeed the video stirred up in  people different reactions and they freely express them.

Let’s talk about my view.

The most important opinion I have on this would be that last thing j would say. Here are my other opinions though

I do believe that Mrs Toyosi was been truthful. Honesty is a key instrument believe that the world is carefully loosing in this generation. Nobody is actually being truthful with themselves talkless of others. Incase you don’t know by now I am not team stone Toyosi to death. I applaud her courage to be honest amd speak nothing but the truth. I believe that the idea of the video itself is brilliant contrary to popular opinions.it was beautiful that she thought it right to come up woth the video.

I also love her way of thinking. It does not take  rocket scientist to see and understand that this family value deep thinking. They process questions and answer them to the best of their knowledge.

Does she really trust him? Well she gave her answer. To the critics on the Internet I believe we go around with people we don’t trust daily, so why chastise her because she chose to be vulnerable.

While I understand people’s views of keeping this private I also think it was important that this was seen. It reminds us to have honest conversations and not just surfaces laughters.

To my most important opinion, it is important as Social Media users to throughly verify information before taking them in. Alot of comments about this shows that either the viewers did not play attention to the video or they did not watch it at all. It is a great lesson to the public generally.

Don’t forget, I really want to know what your opinion is also.
