Abdulhakeem Abdulhameed, the JAMB Coordinator for Ogun State, has directed admission officers at tertiary institutions in the state to regularize all undisclosed admissions within a one-month grace period provided by the board. He emphasized that JAMB is committed to enforcing compliance with merit-based admissions and will impose sanctions on institutions that do not comply.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting with admission officers from various institutions at Redeemer’s College of Technology and Management (RECTEM) in Mowe, Ogun State, Abdulhameed stressed that JAMB’s goal is to ensure proper admissions rather than to impose penalties. He highlighted the board’s dedication to eliminating illegal admissions and ensuring all admissions are processed through the Central Admission Process System (CAPS). “We will no longer tolerate admission malpractices. All admissions must be on CAPS. We have automated all our services, and institutions that fail to comply will face severe sanctions from the Minister of Education,” he stated.
Abdulhameed added that any admissions not processed through CAPS are considered illegal. To address this, institutions have been given a one-month period to disclose and rectify any undisclosed admissions. He underscored that the meeting aimed to discuss the best ways to interpret and implement admission policies.
