The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, recognized 2024 as a difficult year due to the nation’s economic woes. However, he reassured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu is actively working to address these issues and other national challenges.
During the Assembly’s 22nd Annual Thanksgiving Service on Friday, Obasa urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, emphasizing the President’s dedication to improving the lives of citizens.
“The year that is ending has undoubtedly been fraught with challenges, particularly concerning the country’s economic state,” Obasa said. “Despite this, we take comfort in the knowledge that the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making every effort to lead us to a brighter future. The President is diligently working on solutions to bring Nigerians joy. Believe me, relief is on the way. I implore you to hold onto hope.”
The Speaker further encouraged Nigerians to face 2025 with renewed enthusiasm and vigor. He highlighted reasons to be grateful to God for his kindness, love, and unwavering loyalty.
“In these trying times, when the world may seem overwhelming and unpredictable, it is essential to remember the enduring message of mercy and grace that is always present in our lives. It is truly through God’s mercy that we discover strength, solace, and renewal. May we acknowledge God’s supreme power and mercy in our lives, understanding that our blessings and accomplishments are not solely the product of our own efforts, but rather a reflection of God’s mercy and compassion,” Obasa concluded.
