Market Women Are Urged Not to Hike Food Items By Oluremi Tinubu

While speaking to women at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki for their 2024 Women’s Day Celebration, she made the appeal in Ebonyi State.In a statement released on Saturday, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady’s media aide, revealed that Tinubu recognised the enormous assistance that women have received from Francis Nwifuru, the state governor, in the areas of appointments and interventions.

She said, “The First Lady urged market women to avoid unjust price increases for food items during the Yuletide season, which is quickly approaching.”

Later, Tinubu spoke with the traditional leaders of Ebonyi State at the Presidential Lodge in Abakaliki, where she praised the state’s tranquilly and called it a ray of hope for the nation.”Nigeria possesses all the necessary elements to become a great country. According to reports, the First Lady stated, “We must continue to bless this land, and I invite you, our traditional rulers, to take the lead in that regard.”

“Let me go back to greet your governor. He has gone beyond the 35 per cent in female appointments. He has chosen to provide business recapitalisation grants of one million Naira each to 130 individuals who have businesses. His deputy governor, secretary to the state government, and many others are women. As RHI, we did not arrive without anything. We are contributing N50 million, which includes 20,000 wrappers, shoes, and bags, to help women-owned businesses in this state.
