The 2024 edition of the Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB) annual national undergraduate essay competition has begun.

According to Eyinimi Omorozi, project consultant and CEO of Mahogany 21st Century Concepts Limited, the eighth essay competition in the series has attracted many students from the country’s tertiary institutions.

Consequently, the closing date for submitting essay entries has been extended from October 14 to 31.

Omorozi, who revealed that the topic for this year’s competition is Nigerian Content and Opportunities in African Local Content Advancement, stated that the competition is only open to 100 and 200-level students from Nigerian higher education institutions.

“The NCDMB Annual National Undergraduate Essay Competition is the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB)’s flagship academic exercise, held annually to promote academic excellence among undergraduate students in Nigerian tertiary institutions. It is also intended to raise awareness among Nigerian youths, who are the true driving force behind the Nigerian content initiative, about the need to build local capacities and competence in order to effectively participate in the Nigerian oil and gas industry and develop talent to capitalize on that opportunity.

The NCDMB Annual National Undergraduate is one of the most prestigious and longest competitive academic exercises for undergraduates in the country, with participants competing for enticing cash prizes, laptops, and other items.
