NDLEA Nabs 80-Year-Old With Drugs In Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended an 80-year-old male suspect in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State for possession of illicit substances.

The agency’s spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, respectfully shared in a statement on Sunday, September 22, 2024, that the suspect admitted to engaging in the illicit drug trade for approximately 25 years.

The Lagos State Strategic Command of the Agency respectfully informs that on Friday, September 20th, an individual named Pa Aremu Shojobi, who is 80 years of age, was apprehended at his residence in the Iyana Ipaja area of the state. The individual was found to be in possession of 14 kilograms of cannabis.

In his statement, the elderly gentleman admitted to having been involved in the illicit drug trade for the past 25 years. He further stated that he obtains his supplies from Benin Republic and conducts transactions with his clients from the comfort of his own residence, operating between the hours of 7am and 10pm daily.
