Hajara Mohammed, Chairperson of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM), has announced that the commission has scheduled October 19, 2024, for the conduct of local government elections in the state.
Hajara Mohammed, Chairperson of KAD-SIECOM, announced during a meeting with political parties and stakeholders in Kaduna that the current council members, inaugurated on November 1, 2021, will conclude their 3-year tenure on October 31, 2024.
She emphasized that KAD-SIECOM, as mandated by Section 25(1) of the KAD-SIECOM Law 2024, is responsible for organizing elections for chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, and councillors in Kaduna State. The local government elections are scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 8 am to 4 pm.
The commission released the election timetable today, Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
“The 2024 election guidelines, along with the election timetable, have been issued. KAD-SIECOM is fully prepared to conduct the elections on the specified date,” stated the Chairperson.
