The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has provided an account of the ongoing offensive by Russia against his nation, involving the deployment of drones, bombs, and missiles.
On Sunday, in a post on his X handle, he alleged that Russia had launched a series of attacks on various regions in Ukraine, employing over 900 bombs.
President Zelensky claims that Russia fired around 900 bombs, 30 missiles in a week, and 50 drones in a single night against Ukraine
“Last night, Russia bombard Ukraine with over 50 strike drones, and over the past week, it has used more than 900 bombs, around 30 missiles, and nearly 500 ‘Shaheds’ against various regions of Ukraine,” he said.
He also noted that most of the attacks were targeted at civilian and critical infrastructures.
According the Zelensky, Russians were only able to attack Ukraine in such manners due to lack of sufficient support for Ukraine.
“All of these attacks would have been impossible if we had sufficient support from the world in crucial areas: long-range capabilities for our security,” he said.
He also called for effective sanctions against Russia to prevent them from importing critical components for drone and missile production.
“There are needs for effective sanctions to prevent Russia from importing critical components for drone and missile production, especially microelectronic and political decisions that could ruin Russia’s will to wage this war,” he said.
“Ukraine deserves the same strong security as all our partners in the free world.”
This development comes amid continued escalation of the crisis between Russia and Ukraine.
Zelensky has been calling for the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) to invite Ukraine to join as a member country, stating that Russia must lose the war.
