The Migrant Workers Alliance for Change, Rainbow Connect, along with others, took to the streets of Toronto to demonstrate and participated in peaceful protests this weekend to advocate for the rights of migrant workers nationwide.

The Nathan Phillips Square (City Hall) served as the venue for a peaceful demonstration against the concerning surge in xenophobia and racism within Canada. We are gathering to advocate for the rights of migrants and to denounce anti-immigration sentiments. Let us come together and unequivocally declare that migrants are deserving of justice and protection.

The group respectfully requests that Prime Minister Trudeau honor his commitments by granting permanent residency to all migrant and undocumented workers in Canada.

Afurther emphasizes “Migrant rights cannot wait. We need action and we need permanent residence status now,” said Aviles.
