Rapper Lil Reese, from Chicago, was taken into police jail after being accused of punching and strangling a former lover, almost two weeks after a warrant was filed. The rapper, whose real name is Tavares Taylor, was detained early on Monday morning on suspicion of serious violence against a member of the family or home.
TMZ has been informed by eyewitnesses that Lil Reese was taken into custody on Sunday night at The Address nightclub in Houston, Texas. When they noticed his arrival, police were already positioned at the club and moved in to take his arrest. The rapper has his hands tied behind his back as he is led to a police car in pictures taken at the site.
This arrest comes after a reported altercation at Houston’s The Pink House nightclub, where Lil Reese allegedly beat his ex-girlfriend for rejecting his advances. A police report stated that the woman was left “gasping for air” and afraid for her life after Reese hit her in the cheek and attempted to choke her. The woman’s buddy reportedly saw the altercation and reported it to security.
Lil Reese’s attorney, Carl Moore, told TMZ, “Mr. Taylor vehemently denies these false accusations. We look forward to his day in court.”
The rapper, known for his role in Chicago’s drill music scene, now awaits further legal proceedings.
