Security Forces Neutralize Terrorist Cell, Free Dozens Of Captives

In a series of coordinated operations throughout Nigeria, the Nigerian Army has successfully neutralized eight terrorists and rescued 40 individuals who had been abducted. According to a statement released on Monday, the Army’s recent victories have significantly weakened the capabilities of unrepentant terrorists and their associates.

In addition to eliminating terrorists and rescuing hostages, the Army has also made significant strides in disrupting the supply of weapons to criminal elements. On September 28, troops conducted a stop-and-search operation in Nasarawa State, which led to the arrest of a notorious arms courier. The courier was found in possession of a large quantity of ammunition, a major setback for the proliferation of weapons among terrorist groups.

The Nigerian Army has continued its successful operations against terrorism, resulting in the elimination of two additional terrorists in Ankwa village, Kachia Local Government Area. During this engagement, troops also recovered a locally made firearm, 11 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, and a motorcycle used by the terrorists.In another encounter, troops engaged fleeing terrorists at Faayijiwa Fandanari village in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State. This led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, 61 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO), 51 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, hard drugs, and various supplies. The terrorists were forced to abandon their weapons and ammunition due to the overwhelming firepower of the Nigerian Army.These ongoing operations demonstrate the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the Nigerian people.

The Nigerian Army’s fight against terrorism have yielded further successes, resulting in the arrest of a firearms courier and the recovery of a significant quantity of ammunition. In a recent operation, troops apprehended a suspect carrying 303 live rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition concealed in a bag. The suspect and the vehicle were immediately taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend his accomplices.In addition, the Army conducted precision strikes in the forests near Danmari and Saulawa villages in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. These strikes resulted in the elimination of one terrorist.These ongoing operations demonstrate the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the Nigerian people.

The Nigerian Army’s operations against terrorism have continued to yield positive results, with further successes in Gwoza and Kukawa Local Government Areas. In Gwoza, troops neutralized three terrorists near Ashigashiya village. Additionally, vigilant troops intercepted a convoy suspected of transporting supplies to terrorists in Gubio. Three vehicles loaded with food supplies intended for terrorist camps were seized, and N2,400 in cash was recovered.In Kukawa, troops responded to intelligence reports of terrorists attempting to relocate abducted victims from Cijin village. Upon sighting the troops, the terrorists fled, abandoning 38 hostages, including six men, eight women, and 24 children. The rescued hostages were safely returned to their families.These ongoing operations demonstrate the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the Nigerian people.

Another operation against terrorism yielded positive results, with a successful ambush in Yobe State. In response to reports of terrorists extorting civilians in Sasawa village, Damaturu Local Government Area, troops staged an ambush, neutralizing one terrorist and recovering an AK-47 rifle and a motorcycle.The Chief of Army Staff has commended the troops for their bravery and relentless efforts in the fight for peace. He has also expressed gratitude to the citizens for their continuous provision of credible information, which has been instrumental in the success of these operations.The Nigerian Army remains committed to its mission of eradicating terrorism and safeguarding the lives of all Nigerians.
