A tragic accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to 15 others. The incident involved a Toyota Hiace bus that experienced a tire blowout near Saapade, Ogun State.
According to the Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the bus veered off the road and overturned following the tire failure. A total of 18 passengers were on board, including nine men, five women, and four children.
The injured victims were transported to PATMAG Hospital in Ogere for medical treatment, while the deceased were taken to the State General Hospital morgue in Isara.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin, urged motorists to prioritize vehicle maintenance and exercise caution, particularly during periods of heavy traffic.
