In a significant development in the fight against terrorism, troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) have effectively neutralized a prominent bandit leader, Kachallah Buzu, and multiple members of his group in Zamfara State.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counterinsurgency expert, confirmed the operation that took place on the evening of September 12, 2024, in Mayanchi village. The operation was a result of an ambush set up by the military after receiving intelligence reports about the terrorists’ movements.
Intelligence sources respectfully informed the publication that the ambush resulted in the apprehension and incapacitation of a significant number of bandits, including their leader, Buzu.
In addition to the unfortunate loss of life among the insurgents, the troops managed to seize 30 motorcycles and a large cache of weapons, further hindering the group’s operational capabilities.
The accomplishment of this operation was a substantial triumph in the continuous endeavors to address the issue of banditry in the Northwest region.
Zagazola further disclosed that Kachallah created a video on the same day of his demise, appealing to other bandit leaders, Turji, Dankarami, Dogo Gide, and Bello Turji, to cease harming innocent people and instead direct their efforts against the military.
