Professor Kayode Adebowale, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, announced that a record 11,912 students applied for various undergraduate degree programs for the 2024/2025 academic year.
In a statement released to DAILY POST, Adebowale noted that the candidates participated in the post-University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) tests, which began on Thursday. He was accompanied by other principal officers of the institution to monitor the examination process.
Candidates and their parents arrived at the venue as early as 6:00 a.m., demonstrating their commitment. To ensure their comfort, the Admissions Committee had arranged chairs and canopies at the location.
Adebowale reminded candidates to visit the UI Admissions Portal to print their photo cards, which include their examination date, time, and venue details.
As the university continues to receive a high volume of applicants, it reflects the institution’s growing reputation and the increasing demand for quality higher education in Nigeria.
